Baby's First Year Album-finally finished!!!

Here it is-finally! I've been working on this baby for what seemed like for-ev-er! It's a gift for someone special who is having a baby in a couple of months. I was trying to get it finished in time for her baby shower.

Here's the first page. I cut out the announcement from New Arrival and inked the edges.

For this page I welded "1 month" onto a circle using my Gypsy and after cutting it I used my white GellyRoll pen to create some faux stitches on the letters.

This is the 2 month/3 month page. You flip one way for two months and the other way to see the three month photos.

Flip the tab to the right and there is space for two month photos and/or journaling....

Flip the tab to the left and there is space for three month memories.

This is the 5/6 month page. I cut a little tag folder from my Fabulous Finds cartridge. The name is made from brads...oops! I just noticed that the heart brad on the bottom needs to be turned...darn thing must have spun around on me! lol
Here is for the five month photo-the 5 lifts up.
And the 6 flips up so a photo can go inside...
Inside the center flaps I stamped some journaling lines to record special moments.
Seven months- I cut the shape from A Child's Year (I LOOOOOVE that cart! There's just something about silhouettes that just touches my heart) and then I employed some more of the faux stitching technique....
Here's eight and nine...I used scalloped circles from Mini Monograms but manipulated their size using my Gypsy...they kinda look like little clouds which I think is perfect for that little airplane.
There's that adorable little airplane from New Arrival! I used just a touch of Stickles on the propeller...I LOVE glitter, but since it's a baby boy album, I chose to use it very sparingly...
For this page I used my scalloped square from Mini Monograms. I welded and cut the 10 from that cart, too. Then I threaded a little ribbon through...added more faux stitching to the scalloped square....and the tag fits inside-ready for adorable 10 month photos.
Pretty much the same as the 10 month side...
And here is the one year page. The birthday boy in the highchair is from A Child's Year, of course. I Swiss dotted and inked the yellow image to give it some dimension and pop.
The last page is sort of a milestone memoboard I made. I first cut out a rounded square and ran the ribbon. I glued the ribbon ends onto the back of the square. Then I took my Crop o dile and punched holes so I could attach the button brads you see. Then I glued the whole thing to another rounded square and adhered it to my album.

These are the little tags I made. One side has a milestone and the other side is blank...all ready for a date and/or age to be written in!

The finished product.

Thanks so much for looking at my project! It's my first mini so excuse all the imperfections. If you have questions...don't be shy! :)

Target Dollar Spot Finds

If you've got a second, hop on into Target and check out their dollar spot. I picked up these paper packs. I know they usually have stampers, stickers, embellishments, and other things to match, but this was all they had out when went. I guess that just gives me an excuse to make another trip out there, eh?

I picked up four packs. Three of them have 8 papers each, and one had 12 papers in it. Thirty six papers for $4...not too shabby!

This one is called the beach vacation collection. Four of the papers are glittery and all are SUPERcute! There's one page with flip flops all over it-perfect for summer!

The next one is called the birthday boy collection. Four of the papers are glossy which should make for some really cute pages!

This one is called the girlfriends collection, with four of the pages being glittered in this pack.

The last is called the scrapbooking collection which contains six different colored pages that coordinate with the other paper packs.
That's all for now, I can't wait to see what else they put out to go with these cute papers!

Coupons! Coupons! Coupons!

Well, I still don't have that mini album done...I have 3 more pages left and then I can share with you all. I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

In the mean time I have some great coupons to share with you. The first two are online only coupons...who doesn't love getting stuff in the mail?
...and the next two are in store only. Happy shopping!

Mr. Fix It

Well, I know I haven't posted in awhile, but it's not for a lack of creating. I've been busy working on my first mini album and it's taking me FOREVER to complete. I must have 20 hours into it already and I'm only halfway done! When I do finally finish it I'll be sure to post lots of pics and maybe even a video if I can figure out how to do it! We'll see....

In the mean time, here's a layout I completed a couple of weeks ago that I haven't been able to post yet.

The red paper in this layout comes from a pack I got a Big Lots a few months ago. It's made by EK Success, and came in a pack of 8 double sided sheets of paper. The line is called Inspirables Fresh & Funky. For the pack it was only $1.25...so you know that made me happy!

To achieve the diamond plate effect for my letters, I first cut the letters out of Core'dinations cardstock...FIX is from Don Juan, but I can't remember what cart the MR and IT came from...maybe Plantin Schoolbook? Anywhoooo...after I cut out the letters, I ran them through my Sizzix texture boutique using the diamond plate Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then I sanded the letters gently using a sanding block...and-viola!-a very cool boyish title for my page!

It's hard to see in the photo, but in the upper right hand corner of the layout I added three little staple X's to add some visual interest...it's really hard finding cool embellishments for boy pages sometimes!

Anyway, thanks for looking and I'm really gonna try to hustle and get that mini album completed-as soon as I do, I'll post it asap! So far, I'm really happy with it and I can't wait to see what you all think of it!

***For some reason, the colors aren't very true in the photos of this layout...I took them with no flash, but I think I should have waited till the morning to photograph them so I could take advantage of the natural light....oh well...ya live and learn I guess!***
